Mine just happens to have four paws.

Perry, the clever Maine Coon who steals scenes throughout my books, was inspired by my own magnificent Maine Coon, Leroy Selmon. While Leroy has never officially solved a murder (that I'm aware of), his endless curiosity, quiet confidence, and uncanny ability to appear exactly where the action is made him the perfect inspiration for Perry.

It's safe to say Perry wouldn't exist without him.
